ENGLISH FEST...
The English Festival welcomes the attendance of any 7th or 8th grader in Racine & Kenosha counties attending public, private, or parochial schools.
the racine-kenosha english festival is celebrating its 36th anniversary this year.

The English Festival committee itself is composed of volunteer Kenosha and Racine English teachers, librarians, and parents. Six books are chosen for students to read and use as the foundation of a vibrant interactive festival celebrating the joy of reading.
We have averaged 300-400 students a year in this 2-day event. Students must read the six chosen novels and complete a short quiz (or alternative activity) by early February to attend the Festival. Students get the opportunity to attend two or three workshops of their choice. Poetry, creative writing, a mock trial, theatre games, graphic art, choose your own adventure, and more. |
In addition to attending workshops, middle school students have the opportunity to participate in a college campus tour providing a firsthand experience as they consider future college plans.
The day's culminating event is a keynote presentation by the author of one the year's books. We hope you choose to participate! Books will be available for you to check out from the Raymond School library by mid September. You can also check out your local public library or support your local book store for personal copies of these titles and get a jump-start on your reading!
